It is the world's largest Additive Manufacturing Conference and features all the big, global players. Byron is part of the Advanced Engineering Design Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mandela University which specialises in Design for Lightweighting and Additive Manufacturing collaborative projects. His lecturers are hopeful that he will place highly in an extremely competitive field, most of which are full commercial entries. His design has already met with much favourable comment globally and will be printed by EOS for display at FormNext along with the other excellent entries.

Locally, a proof of concept structure has been printed by Rapid3D and will be on display at the upcoming RAPDASA (the Rapid Product Development Association of South Africa) Conference in Bloemfontein and the Advanced African Manufacturing Expo in Port Elizabeth, both events occurring in November.
